The Source Code Findings

A dig-up analysis by XDA developers into Play Movies & TV’s Android app v4.18.37 revealed the service is gearing up to something big. This is to offer users a new streaming option aside Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu or Disney+. This could be thoughtful, as people restricted to their homes amidst COVID-19 breakout could really be benefitting if this rolled. As of now, the Play Movies & TV service only allows users to buy or rent movies/series for a specific time. And those would be redeemed after the tenure. Except for a few movies, Google’s running this service like this since its launch in 2012. Further, marketing its content via YouTube and other platforms is done to save it against the strong-armed players. A new update as XDA developers reported could definitely be helpful. The service, as per XDA findings, is preparing to roll out hundreds of movies with few ads in between them! Making them free by serving a few ads is a better idea than renting them. This was surfaced by the new code found in Play Movies & TV’s Android code as below. This should be considered just as a hint for now, as Google may remove it as per its discretion. The firm’s having a strong background of waving off many such features even before, while, or after they’re rolled out. But if that happens, it’s reasonable to rejoice.
