This update bumps the Build number to 22000.708 and has a number of fixes and improvements to existing features. Some of the notable ones include bringing the Spotlight feature, and fixing BSOD and Search issues in Windows 11.
Windows 11 KB5014019 Update
In order to iron out the issues reported in the previous update and polish the existing features in Windows 11, Microsoft has come up with a new update called KB5014019 – as per its cumulative update timeline. This is a big update carry on a number of small fixes and improvements, plus a couple of new features. One among them is the Spotlight support – a Windows 8 feature that lets users automatically change the lock screen wallpaper. Once updated to the Windows 11 Build 22000.708, go to Settings > Personalization > Spotlight to enable it. This will download a high-quality background from Bing’s top wallpapers of the day and set it to your machine’s locks screen. This was previously spotted in the Win11 22H2 and brought to Win11 21H2. Aside from this, here are some fixes and improvements brought in this update;
Microsoft fixed an issue where searchindexer.exe could affect shapes in Microsoft Visio. Microsoft fixed an issue where adding a trusted user, group, or computer could result in the error message “The object selected doesn’t match the type of destination source.” Microsoft fixed an issue that causes some users to see a black screen. Microsoft fixed an issue that caused print failures. Microsoft fixed an issue that could affect the brightness of displays after you change the display mode. Microsoft also fixed the Search box input that doesn’t work since the previous update. Microsoft fixed an issue that crashes apps using d3d9.dll with certain graphics cards. And in terms of improvements, Microsoft added animation to the Widgets icon, aligned the taskbar to the left, etc.
This update is aimed at those who can’t wait for the monthly Tuesday patch update, which is more stable. Yet, if you’re interested in applying this update, go to Settings > Windows Update to check for the latest cumulative update and install it. If you didn’t find any, you could try the offline installers too through Microsoft’s Update Catalog.
