This is similar to quick reactions made for Instagram statuses, where users can react with any of the given 8 emojis as a quick response. This support is found in the WhatsApp desktop app, with eight emojis that may not be edited.
Quick Reactions to WhatsApp Status
Though slow, it’s good to see that WhatsApp is picking up with its rivals by inducing new features every now and then. The frequency with the platform testing new features has increased, although bringing them to a stable version is slow. Anyway, it’s seen testing a new feature in WhatsApp for desktop app, that let users send emojis to their contact’s statuses. Named Quick Reactions, this was spotted by WaBetaInfo, who shared a screenshot of what this would look like. The Quick Reactions include 8 emojis as, viz the Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes, Face with Tears of Joy, Face with Open Mouth, Crying Face, Folded Hands, Clapping Hands, Party Popper, and Hundred Points. Tapping on either of them will send the emoji straight into the contact’s chat. May WhatsApp work on this to make it better, as sending simple emoji reactions into a conversation isn’t necessary. This is similar to Instagram’s reactions to status, where 8 emojis are available for users. And what’s intriguing is that WhatsApp is testing this in its desktop client, rather than iOS or Android variants. Well, we may soon see this coming to the beta versions of these clients too. The platform is already testing the quick emoji reactions to messages in a chat, and Communities features. Adding this on top of them will only make it better, and compete against the other messengers in the space.
